This is an intentional space for maternal care and relationship building, for guided and supportive services. The modern mother has expanded their perspective on what it means to become a mother and their experience into matrescence (the period of transition into motherhood) whether it starts for them in pregnancy, birth, or postpartum this time is to be honored and cultivated with intention and care. We are no longer allowing birth and motherhood to happen to us, we are at the reigns.
I love being a chiropractor to pregnant moms and kids, but my first specialty is as a sports chiropractor. I have been fortunate to work with elite and professional athletes that have set the framework for my approach to functional movement, biomechanics and a wellness mindset. Of course I work with every day people as well, and I bring the same approach to wellness, pregnancy and pediatric care as I would with a high level athlete.
I love being a perpetual learner, sharing new education with my patients and clients and I'm fueled in supporting women and families through the transition of parenthood. The fuel to supporting families grew stronger after having my own child. I decided I would deep dive into the birth world to be able to support women and their families as best I could holistically and from a well-rounded frame of mind. In these 4 years I became a BirthFit Leader & Coach, a Spinning Babies Aware, additional studies in perinatal care, Dynamic Body Balancing, certified in traditional belly binding, neurodevelopmental wellness and chiropractic and a birth doula- aside from already being a Webster Certified Chiropractor. I also made it a goal to build a community of providers to support those experiencing the parenthood transition. The Sequoia Birth Collective, a 501c3 nonprofit was developed especially for this reason. Feel free to check it out at www.sequoiabirthcollective.org |
“You must have a way with kids because my daughter doesn’t engage with new people ever- at all.”- Mom of a 3 year old
Dr. Ciara Lopez is so amazing. She is incredibly great at what she does, and the kindest person on top of that. I have been to other chiropractors but feel the best results with her.- Jasmine B
Having the opportunity to be supported and cared for by Dr. Ciara Lopez has been more than excellent throughout my pregnancy. She’s very professional, careful, and thorough with every part of the visit whether it’s the adjustment or education on the body or providing extra at home stretches that continue to help me out until I see her at my next appointment. You can feel her passion in her work which has put me at ease throughout my first pregnancy.- Brooke T
Dr. Ciara is absolutely amazing and I HIGHLY recommend her, especially if you have young children. She is so patient and nurturing. Almost two years of constipation with my son was massively reduced within the first two sessions. We are eternally grateful for her help and professionalism ! - Mitzi T
She’s is the best!! I came to Ciera when I was pregnant and let me tell you she knows what she is doing.. Everytime I would leave her office I was pain free and would explain everything too me before I left on the next steps to feel better. I would totally recommend her 100% - Karla R
I loved being pregnant! It was a breeze (even though it was 2020), I embraced my desire for a wellness-centered pregnancy and ate whole food centered, well balanced with occasional indulgences, I walked almost daily, I performed daily functional movements, I stayed hydrated with homemade 'labor-ade', I read about pregnancy nutrition, the art of breastfeeding, postpartum recovery and followed the birth education of a renowned midwife and obstetrician.
I had an emergency Cesarean birth. I’m not saying that it was a bad thing in any way because I felt empowered in the decision process and supported throughout the procedure, in fact the anesthesiologist and I whipped up a very lively conversation. What I didn’t have was the preparation for a hospital birth, the possibilities you could encounter with a hospital birth such as interventions, medications for myself and my baby, advocacy to say 'no' to certain things, or an emotional support person who understood my birth & postpartum goals. Thank goodness we had all the support of our family postpartum because our baby needed to be in the NICU for 30 days, it was a scary time. I learned from my own experience that birth is spontaneous and unknown. Like life, you can only control what you can control and everything else is uncontrollable. You can control how you prepare and approach uncontrollables. I'm here to support everyone's pregnancy and birth from a judgement free zone. I believe in educating and empowering you with information so that YOU can make the best decisions for your family. |
